This is an addition to a koi piece completed by another artist. We have chosen to go with a magenta lotus. This particular client has expressed concern regarding red pigment allergies, so we are "testing" the area with a few red/magenta pigments to see whether or not they will work for him.
Red pigment allergies are the most common tattoo pigment allergy; However, it is very uncommon that someone will have a negative reaction to tattoo pigment. If you suspect you may be allergic, consult your tattoo artist to discuss other options. Simple choosing a different brand of pigment may be a slight change with a terrific outcome for your tattoo.
